Registered Nurse - Infection Control Specialist

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements infection control programs, coordinates rounds in patient care areas, recommends improvements, and educates staff on infection practices.
• Assists with hospital-wide infection control activities, records hospital-acquired infections, and ensures compliance with accreditation and governmental requirements.
• Collaborates with community health agencies, participates in investigations of reportable infections, and performs surveillance activities.
• Maintains expertise through ongoing education and contributes to policy development, review, and revision.
• Conducts medical record reviews to identify potential infections and supports emergency response to epidemic situations.

Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor’s Degree and at least 2 years of RN hospital experience. Preferred experience includes Infection Prevention, surveys, and epidemiology knowledge.

Skills

Strong communication, collaboration, and analytical skills are essential. Ability to work in clinical environments and adhere to policies is necessary.
