Registered Nurse Infection Control Specialist

About the role

Infection Control Nurse responsible for leading outbreak response, training hospital staff on hygiene practices, creating safety policies, and reviewing patient data to identify infection risks.

Responsibilities

• Tracking and investigating infection clusters to prevent spread.
• Educating healthcare professionals on infection prevention protocols.
• Developing and implementing health and safety policies based on current medical standards.
• Monitoring patient data to identify and mitigate infection risks.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse licensure from the Oklahoma Board of Nursing.
• Certification in Infection Prevention and Control within 3 years of hire.
• Preferred: CIC certification and 3+ years of infection prevention experience, especially with surgical background.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across hospital departments.
• Demonstrated critical thinking, accountability, and relationship-building abilities.
