Registered Nurse - Infection Control Specialist

About the role

This position supports organizational goals to deliver safe, high-quality patient care, enhance patient satisfaction, and ensure compliance with Infection Prevention and Control standards, including successful surveys by accreditation bodies.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating and participating in infection control programs across departments
• Implementing and educating staff on infection prevention practices
• Conducting rounds, surveillance, and evaluating infection control measures
• Identifying hospital-acquired infections and ensuring compliance with reporting requirements
• Collaborating with community health agencies and authorities on infection prevention efforts
• Developing, reviewing, and revising infection control policies and procedures
• Participating in ongoing education, professional associations, and surveillance activities
• Performing medical record reviews to identify potential infections

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree required
• At least 2 years of RN hospital experience
• Experience with Infection Prevention, joint surveys, and knowledge of epidemiology preferred
• Strong communication, collaboration, and compliance skills
• Ability to work in a clinical environment, adhere to policies, and participate in continuous education to maintain expertise in infection control practices
