Registered Nurse- ICU Night Shift

About the role

The Staff RN under the Charge Nurse's supervision provides professional nursing care using the nursing process. They assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. They serve as a patient advocate and are accountable for ensuring patient safety, comfort, and treatment.

Responsibilities

• Conducts ongoing assessments of patients, applying physiological and psychological principles to guide data collection and establish nursing diagnoses.
• Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement a plan of care that meets patient goals.
• Administers medications appropriately and follows infection prevention protocols.
• Communicates effectively with physicians and other healthcare team members, providing patient/family teaching and administering treatments.
• Demonstrates an understanding of patient rights and complies with HMH's Legal Compliance Code of Conduct.
• Maintains a safe work environment and reports safety concerns.

Requirements

• Graduate of a school of professional nursing.
• One year of Med/Surg experience preferred.
• Current RN license in Texas.
• Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of employment.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification within 90 days of employment.
