Job Summary The Head Nurse oversees patient care, staff management, and daily operations within a specific nursing department or unit. They utilize the nursing process to provide safe, compassionate, and high-quality care that respects patient autonomy and dignity. The role involves clinical leadership, ensuring continuity of care, and collaborating with leadership to achieve departmental goals. Key responsibilities include interpreting diagnostic data, guiding staff during critical situations, evaluating intervention outcomes, and implementing innovative processes to improve patient outcomes. They participate in clinical leadership activities such as coaching, mentoring, staffing, and performance evaluations, while supporting continuous learning and healthcare improvement initiatives. The Head Nurse communicates effectively with team members to deliver coordinated patient care and completes other duties as assigned. Qualifications & Skills Minimum of 2 years experience in the current unit or similar setting.Computer literacy.RN licensure and BLS certification within 14 days of hire; ACLS preferred.
