Registered Nurse - GIG Emergency Department
About the Role
Mercy's GIG Nursing Program is seeking experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurses who want the flexibility to choose shifts while making an immediate impact on patient care. Participation requires nurses to self-schedule a minimum number of hours, maintain flexibility for short-notice staffing needs, and accept the possibility of last-minute shift cancellations. GIG positions do not guarantee hours and are the first positions subject to cancellation.
Pay
$40/hour base rate with variable shift incentives. This is a W-2 employee position.
Schedule
- Minimum 1 shift every 90 days
- 4, 8, or 12-hour shifts available
- Flexible day and night shift opportunities
Responsibilities
- Provide emergency nursing care in a fast-paced environment
- Self-schedule shifts while maintaining flexibility for short-notice staffing needs
- Perform patient care duties requiring physical demands such as pushing, pulling, lifting up to 50 pounds, prolonged standing, walking, gripping, reaching, bending, kneeling, twisting, and squatting
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program (BSN preferred)
- Current RN license in the hiring state and/or compact state licensure
- Minimum two (2) years of recent bedside RN experience in Emergency Nursing within the last 2 years
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Epic EMR experience preferred
