Registered Nurse, Emergency Department
About the role
At North Alabama Medical Center, our emergency room (ER) team is staffed 24/7 with emergency physicians, nurses, and staff who are trained in providing emergency care. Our team combines advanced training with compassionate service to be ready for you or your family when you need it the most.
Responsibilities
- Utilizes specialized plan-of-care intervention and serves as a patient-care innovator.
- Serves as a patient-care innovator, leveraging skills and cutting-edge technology to directly impact patient wellbeing.
- Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care treatment.
- Documents patient care given.
- Maintains patient condition documentation and communicates with care team, physician, patient, and family.
- Aids patients with activities of daily living such as personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
- Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
- Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
- Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
Requirements
- Current state RN license.
- Basic Life Support certification.
- ACLS/PALS certification required within six months of hire.
- One year of experience preferred.
