Registered Nurse (RN), Emergency Department

About the Role

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a highly dedicated Registered Nurse for our Emergency Department at the New Brunswick campus. Nurses in our Emergency Department provide extraordinary care to patients across all populations, including trauma, neurology, cardiology, orthopedics, and oncology.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards.
• Adhere to ethical standards of practice as defined by the ANA code of ethics.
• Ensure safety in practice, including reporting hazardous environments and medical errors.
• Understand the patient population served and set/evaluate priorities through appropriate interventions.
• Supervise and delegate tasks to team members, collaborating with other patient care providers.
• Utilize the nursing process to integrate all aspects of care and individualize plans for specific patient needs.
• Advance personal and team knowledge through communication and available resources.

Requirements

• Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License.
• BLS & ACLS certifications.
• At least 1 year of ED, Critical Care, or Step Down experience.
• ASN or Nursing Diploma (BSN preferred or must be completed within 5 years of hire).
• PALS & TNCC certifications (preferred).
• Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills.

Pay

$47.85 - $71.72 per hour (anticipated hourly wage range for New Jersey; actual compensation depends on education, skills, and experience).
