Registered Nurse - GIG Emergency Department
About the Role
Mercy's GIG Nursing Program is seeking experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurses who want the flexibility to choose shifts while making an immediate impact on patient care. Participation requires nurses to self-schedule a minimum number of hours, maintain flexibility for short-notice staffing needs, and accept the possibility of last-minute shift cancellations. GIG positions do not guarantee hours and are the first positions subject to cancellation.
Pay
$40/hour base rate with variable shift incentives. This is a W-2 employee position.
Schedule
- Minimum 1 shift every 90 days
- 4, 8, or 12-hour shifts available
- Flexible day and night shift opportunities
Qualifications
- Required Education: Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program.
- Preferred Education: BSN
- Licensure: Current RN license in the hiring state and/or compact state licensure; must meet all applicable state board of nursing requirements.
- Experience: Minimum two (2) years of recent bedside RN experience in Emergency Nursing within the last 2 years.
- Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Preferred Experience: Epic EMR experience
Physical Requirements
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds regularly
- Prolonged standing and walking during shifts
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat while performing patient care duties
