Registered Nurse - Floating Position

About the role

At Tennessee Cancer Specialists, you’ll play an essential part in our mission to deliver the highest quality, compassionate care to patients and their families as they navigate the journey of fighting cancer. As a Registered Nurse in a floating infusion position, you’ll administer, monitor, and document chemotherapy and other infusion treatments across our 17 East Tennessee locations.

Responsibilities

• Administer chemotherapy and other infusion treatments according to provider-ordered plans, performing venipuncture and accessing ports.
• Provide education and emotional support to patients, fostering a compassionate and patient-focused environment.
• Deliver excellent customer service, ensuring patients feel comfortable and supported during treatment.
• Serve as a resource for patients and clinical team members, leveraging in-depth knowledge of infection treatments and staying current with advancements.
• Navigate Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems while adhering to HIPAA, OSHA, and safety guidelines.
• Communicate respectfully and promptly with team members to maintain coordinated, high-quality care.
• Assist with additional tasks as needed, demonstrating adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• Professional nursing degree (BSN preferred).
• Active Tennessee State Nursing licensure.
• Current BLS certification upon hire.
• At least one year of prior nursing experience.
• Chemo-Immuno certification (or willingness to obtain within the first year). OCN certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, with lifting limited to 40 pounds or less.
• Manual dexterity, proper hand-eye coordination, and full range of motion to assist with patient care.
• Corrected vision and hearing within normal range.
