Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice.
  • Direct and guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing care in Telemetry.
  • Directly responsible and accountable for the care given to patients in the Emergency Department.
  • Communicate with the physician about changes in the patient’s clinical condition, including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology.
  • Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.
  • Knowledgeable about EMTALA regulations and reporting of child/adult abuse to appropriate agencies and Hospital Social Worker.
  • Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.

Requirements

  • Current and valid state RN License.
  • Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
  • Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
  • Current PALS certificate and/or ENPC 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
  • Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
  • Minimum of one year experience as a staff nurse RN in an acute care hospital setting; E.R. setting preferred.
  • Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Facility Specific Requirements

  • In Paramedic Base Station ED: MICN within 12 months of hire and maintain current.
  • EDAP certified facilities: Completion of emergency pediatric course 1 and 2 within 6 months of hire.
  • Non-OB facilities: NRP certificate 90 days upon hire and maintain current.
  • Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) within 12 months of hire required.

Pay

The current compensation range for this role is $41.24 to $53.47. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, considering factors such as skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
