Registered Nurse - Emergency Room 7p - 7a

Responsibilities

• Triage incoming patients based on the severity of injury or illness.
• Plan, evaluate, solve problems, create, and implement a plan of care directed by Emergency Department providers.
• Administer prescribed medications in accordance with Community Memorial Hospital’s policies and procedures.
• Demonstrate accurate assessment skills and proper documentation in the electronic medical record.
• Use effective oral, written, and nonverbal communication skills to ensure proper care is provided.
• Provide appropriate education to patients and families.
• Serve as a patient/family advocate.
• Cooperate and collaborate with all members of the healthcare team.
• Apply ethical principles in caring for the patient and serving the family.
• Carry out duties and responsibilities according to legal requirements within the Scope of Practice.
• Lead a culture of safe care aligned with Community Memorial Hospital’s Vision and Values.
• Promote a healthy interpersonal working relationship, free of judgment, and create a safe environment of care for patients, visitors, and colleagues.
• Actively participate in all other duties and responsibilities as designated by the Director of Emergency Nursing.

Requirements

• Associate degree from an approved NYS accredited nursing program.
• Current licensure by the NY State Board of Nursing.
• Certification in BLS, PALS, and ACLS.
• Certification in Coronary Care, TNCC, and ENPC (preferred).
