Registered Nurse - Emergency Department - Full Time (7a-7p)

About the role

Penn Medicine Princeton Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to join their team in the Emergency Department in Plainsboro, NJ. This is a full-time 7:00 am - 7:00 pm shift opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Treat patients with any medical problems that cannot wait to be seen by their regular doctor, as well as severe and life-threatening illnesses and injuries.
• Establish a therapeutic relationship and an individualized plan of care with the patient for a defined period of time (length of stay on that unit).
• Communicate the plan of care to his/her collaborative partners.
• Plan, deliver, coordinate, evaluate, and modify the patient’s care for that defined period of time.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of the plan of care and modify as necessary.
• Transition the plan of care with attention to continuity across shift and settings of care.
• Provide a multitude of care, including but not limited to: foley insertions, assistance with chest tube and central line insertions, cardiac arrests, blood transfusions, medication administration, splinting of orthopedic problems, laceration repair, prep for the operating room, STEMI (MI) care, therapeutic hypothermia, and intravenous insertion.

Requirements

• Active NJ Registered Nurse License
• Basic Life Saving (BLS) Certification
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification

Qualifications

• Minimum of 15 months recent nursing experience

Skills

• Effective communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of emergency department protocols and procedures

Pay

$49.96 - $68.99/Hourly

Schedule

Full-time 7:00 am - 7:00 pm shift opportunity, 36 hours per week, 2 weekends per month and rotating holidays.
