About the Role
The Registered Nurse (RN), Medical Surgical Float Pool, provides comprehensive nursing care across various medical-surgical units, assessing, managing, and coordinating patient care to ensure optimal outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Performing thorough assessments, documentation, and reassessments of patients, including post-op and discharge needs.
- Developing and evaluating personalized care plans based on assessment data, diagnosis, and protocols.
- Administering medications, monitoring IV fluids, and collaborating with healthcare team members for coordinated care.
- Providing specialized care such as restraint management, pain control, and abuse assessment, ensuring safety and adherence to policies.
- Communicating effectively with patients, families, and team members, ensuring respectful, compassionate service.
- Maintaining infection control standards, safety protocols, and environmental cleanliness.
- Engaging in quality improvement initiatives, evidence-based practice, and professional development activities.
Requirements
- Current RN licensure in applicable states (Missouri, Illinois, Oklahoma, Wisconsin) with required certifications (e.g., BLS).
- Strong assessment, clinical, and documentation skills, with the ability to adapt to changing demands.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and professionalism in diverse environments.
- Knowledge of infection control, safety procedures, and patient-centered care principles.
