About the role

Responsible for the delivery of patient care that promotes safety and well-being of all patients in the assigned department. Plans, directs, coordinates, and evaluates the overall clinical nursing practice, daily functioning, and management of the Long Term Care Facility Nursing Department. Maintains open communication with department staff to facilitate performance improvement. Applies age-specific considerations and cultural diversity when rendering patient care. Supports Yukon Kuskokwim Health Corporation’s mission statement.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Completed a program of education in nursing from an NLN-approved institution
  • Licensed in good standing in the State of Alaska as a Registered Professional Nurse
  • Current BLS certification
  • 2 years of charge experience in a Clinic or Urgent Care facility
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to pass and maintain competencies for this position
  • Experience with office equipment (computer, telephone, fax machine, copy machine) and medical equipment (dynamap, scales, thermometer, etc.)

Qualifications

  • BSN preferred
  • Exceptional leadership skills and knowledge of nursing practice
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements

Pay

Minimum hourly pay: $48.57

Schedule

  • Full-time (80 hours per week)
  • 40 hours per week
