About the role
Full-time night Registered Nurse (RN) on 2 Ross Acute Care at Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton, NY. 2 Ross is an 18-bed acute care unit serving surgical cases (women’s health, podiatry, routine procedures) and a mix of general medical diagnoses.
Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care; develop, update, and coordinate the plan of care to achieve patient goals and optimize outcomes.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
- Advocate for ethical and holistic care, partnering in care planning to promote autonomy, dignity, rights, values, and beliefs.
- Foster a learning environment for patients/families, nursing, and other healthcare team members.
- Align practice with safety and quality; integrate evidence and best practice into care; use data to improve outcomes.
- Engage in ongoing professional development; practice at the top of license within legal parameters.
- Demonstrate leadership as a change agent; delegate, coordinate care, and collaborate with the inter-professional team.
- Participate in planning and presenting educational programs.
- Use information technology such as electronic health records, communication systems, and computers.
- Work effectively within an interdisciplinary team including physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff.
- Exercise independent, critical judgment in all aspects of patient care delivery.
- Demonstrate interpersonal skills that convey a positive and supportive attitude.
- Manage multiple responsibilities, urgent responses, and challenging situations.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse license in the state of practice.
- BSN in Nursing preferred; any previously agreed effective date for obtaining a BSN remains in effect, including for NLRN Program transitions.
- Specialty certification preferred.
- BLS certification required.
- ACLS and PALS certifications are unit dependent.
- At least one year of RN experience, or transitioned from the NLRN Program with less than one year.
- Maintain BLS certification; ACLS is unit dependent.
Benefits
This position qualifies for a sign-on bonus up to $25,000.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $39.00 – $54.12 per hour.
