About the role
Provides and documents professional nursing care to telemetry and stroke patients utilizing the Nursing Process (Assessment, Planning, Nursing Diagnosis, Implementation, and Evaluation) in accordance with the medical plan of care, critical pathways, and established SRH and Nursing Policies and Standard Work.
Coordinates and delegates care with/to other professionals and ancillary personnel, and communicates findings as indicated to appropriate person(s).
Must meet the requirements for educational hours as outlined in the NIAHO standards for Primary Stroke Center.
Performs other job-related duties as requested by Nurse Manager or Director.
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for telemetry and stroke patients.
- Document care in accordance with medical plans, critical pathways, and organizational policies.
- Coordinate and delegate care to other healthcare professionals and ancillary personnel.
- Communicate clinical findings to appropriate team members.
- Complete required educational hours per NIAHO standards for Primary Stroke Center.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by Nurse Manager or Director.
Requirements
- Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in South Carolina.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within 1 year of hire.
- Basic and Advanced Arrhythmia certification within 1 year of hire.
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certificate within 1 year of hire.
