About the role
This position is open to current Colorado residents only. This recruitment may be used to fill multiple vacancies. The Wheat Ridge Regional Center provides comprehensive services and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, focusing on active learning and a safe, healthy environment. The center offers 24-hour treatment services compliant with State and Federal regulations.
Responsibilities
- Assists in the delivery of behavior analytic services for Residents served at the Regional Centers.
- Trains data collection systems and behavioral interventions to Direct Support Professionals.
- Implements skill acquisition programs for Residents, including daily living skills, tolerance, and coping strategies.
- Engages in data collection through Electronic Health Record or physical methods, based on guidance from the supervising BCBA.
- Facilitates the delivery of highly preferred items as reinforcement for desirable behaviors.
- Implements behavior reduction programs and conducts preference assessments.
- Documents outcomes of treatments and program implementation accurately and timely.
- Lifts, transports, and positions residents using approved lifting techniques.
- Utilizes crisis management curriculum to ensure safety of individuals and staff.
- Provides onsite training and monitoring of direct care staff.
- Identifies and reports problems to the direct supervisor.
- Provides active treatment to residents, promoting independence through a training approach.
- Assists residents with daily living tasks related to behavioral needs.
- Reports training deficits to the supervising BCBA.
- Uses clinical skills to provide feedback to direct support professionals.
Requirements
This RBT position includes required clinical supervision from a BCBA, but can also include BCBA supervision for RBTs working towards becoming certified as BCBAs. The position requires current and valid Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT) certification. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, two years of relevant experience, and college coursework appropriate to the assignment.
Qualifications
- Current and valid Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT) certification.
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Two (2) years of experience in an occupational field related to the work assigned to the position.
- College course work appropriate to the assignment (Human Services, Rehabilitation, Therapy, or Medical, etc.) may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

- Out-of-state drivers must obtain a valid, non-restricted Colorado driver’s license within 30 days of employment start date.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs and perform physical interventions.
- Position requires use of a state vehicle to transport residents.
