Regional VP Ag Lending

About the role
This position is responsible for leading a team of sales leaders who develop new loan and lease business and cross-sell all Compeer products and services through relationships with current and prospective clients. You will create and execute strategies to develop new business, strengthen client relationships, and add unique value within your assigned region. The role involves managing resources, credit administration, compliance, profitability, and loan quality to ensure the team is the premier provider of lending and financial services to eligible clients.
Responsibilities
- Leadership and Team Management
- Champion the brand and serve as a role model for the organization’s vision, mission, and values.
- Promote and uphold the Ag Lending Sales Culture, holding yourself and team members accountable to desired behaviors.
- Encourage the use of the Team Relationship Model, partnering with teams across Compeer.
- Develop marketplace-specific strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Communicate business expectations and goals to the team.
- Promote a client-focused, team-based sales strategy to maximize results.
- Align with other sales leaders to develop cross-selling expectations for all products and services.
- Identify and implement industry best practices to enhance team value.
- Foster a positive work environment that leverages team talents to achieve goals.
- Recruit, select, train, evaluate, compensate, recognize, and motivate team members.
- Business Development
- Develop the Ag Lending Sales culture and relationship management programs within the region.
- Focus leaders on behaviors and activities that drive results.
- Achieve business goals related to loans, leases, credit quality, client satisfaction, spread, and ROE.
- Execute sales and marketing strategies, including resource and team needs.
- Assess new opportunities and seek innovative solutions for organizational success.
- Understand external client needs and provide tailored solutions.
- Leverage technology to improve sales team efficiency and effectiveness.
- Build deep, strong client relationships and position the team as trusted advisers.
- Strategic Leadership
- Participate in developing long-term strategic business plans to meet short- and long-term objectives.
- Contribute to marketplace strategies and align them with Compeer’s business goals.
- Develop strong relationships with other leaders to enhance the Team Relationship Model.
- Serve on organizational teams, committees, and strategic initiatives to further Compeer’s mission.
- Compliance
- Ensure compliance with credit administration, policies, procedures, regulations, and requirements.
- Address corrective actions identified through internal or external audits.
- Manage the budget for marketing and line-of-business profitability.
- Lead data reporting to assist the team in monitoring success.
- Subject Matter Expertise
- Identify and assess industry trends and their strategic impact.
- Build and maintain knowledge and skills to achieve Compeer’s goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, marketing, agribusiness, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Expert-level experience in the agriculture or financial services industry.
- Advanced leadership and management experience.
- Strategic thinker with a proven ability to drive innovation and adapt to changing business needs.
- Knowledge of collateral evaluation methods and sales management techniques.
- Strong understanding of the agriculture industry and familiarity with the local marketplace.
- Excellent listening, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong interpersonal relationships.
- High level of integrity and commitment to ethical practices.
- Strong negotiation, problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
- Proficient in MS Office applications and customer relationship management (CRM) programs.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.

Pay
Base pay range: $168,500 - $227,900 USD. This role is eligible for variable compensation and other benefits. The actual title and base pay offered depend on factors such as training, skills, experience, business needs, and market demands.

This position offers a hybrid work option and is open to any Compeer office location in Illinois.
