About the Role
This position reports to the Sr. Manager, DSD within Crown Bakeries. The Regional Sales Manager will manage and develop growth within the current customer base, focus on acquiring and retaining new strategic customers, and build and maintain relationships with independent distributors.
Responsibilities
- Achieve annual sales budget by managing “Book of Business” for growth through existing customer growth and retention, as well as the successful acquisition of new strategic customers.
- Develop relationships and leverage the DSD/Independent Distributor network to prospect and grow strategic accounts.
- Review customer sales reports to identify potential issues and address them with specific action plans.
- Develop market-specific sales growth plans that include an actively managed pipeline prospect file.
- Achieve on-plan Marketing Spend, Travel & Entertainment, and Sample Budget performance.
- Establish a sales call schedule ensuring adequate coverage of existing and new customers.
- Exemplify the ability to listen to prospects' needs and make recommendations for solutions based on gathered and analyzed information.
- Work closely with regional contacts for Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs) to optimize sales growth and profit.
- Create and present proposals to decision makers.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Sales.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business and/or Marketing OR applicable experience of 5+ years in sales in lieu of degree.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including basic Excel.
- Experience with corporate applications such as SAGE and SEI (training to be provided).
- Knowledge of the sales cycle as it relates to foodservice.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to interact effectively with multiple levels of management across the customer base.

Work Environment
This job operates predominantly in the field (visiting customers), with secondary time in an office environment. There may be rare times when this position is at the physical plant or distribution center. This employee may occasionally be exposed to facility elements such as extreme temperatures, noise, dust, fumes, and odors. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
