Regional Market Leader
About the Role
The Regional Market Leader plays a critical role in unlocking the potential of Haskell’s offices as strategic assets that fuel market growth, strengthen the brand, shape culture, and elevate client and employee experiences. This leader provides strategic direction and business development across designated markets, driving local relationships and economic development while aligning with Haskell’s internal Market Leaders and Segment Market Leaders in Planning & Development (P&D) and Construction & Manufacturing (C&M). The role focuses on executing local market strategies, fostering client relationships, and delivering sustainable growth and profitability by connecting corporate objectives to local execution.
Responsibilities
- Establish and implement regional policies, procedures, and organizational structure within the boundaries set by the Locations Market Segment Leader and corporate policy, particularly as they relate to business development.
- Develop, direct, and monitor short-term and long-range plans consistent with Haskell’s Market Leaders business plans.
- Plan, staff, and supervise the regional activities of the locations business development teams, including personnel administration, performance reviews, defining functions, responsibilities, and authority.
- Provide guidance to subordinate managers in identifying potential clients and defining the desired scope of projects.
- Maintain an effective business development and economic development program to secure profitable work aligned with regional business strategy and corporate objectives.
- Build and sustain strategic relationships with key local stakeholders, including city and county officials, Chamber of Commerce, Economic Development Councils, charities, site selectors, and AEC organizations to enhance Haskell’s market presence.
- Confer with local marketing, preconstruction, design, and construction staff to support client relationship activities.
- Initiate and maintain liaison with new and existing clients, local subcontractors, and A/E contacts to facilitate positive relationships and communication with Haskell Market Leaders and Account Managers.
- Develop and maintain positive client relationships in partnership with Account Managers and Haskell Market Leaders to position the business for new work and sustain existing relationships.
- Maintain or improve targeted markets' project contribution and profit margins.
- Manage the regional and local business development and advertising annual budget, including team travel, entertainment, industry subscriptions, and associations.
- Perform additional assignments as required by the functional needs of the region or as directed by the Locations Market Segment Leader.
Requirements
- A deep command of the public and private construction industry, with the ability to lead complex operations at scale and translate vision into execution.
- Well-rounded business acumen, including expertise in financial management, marketing, estimating, and people leadership.
- Exceptional leadership presence, with the ability to align teams, influence stakeholders, and communicate with clarity and purpose.
- A proven track record of building, scaling, and elevating regional offices into high-performing, growth-oriented markets.
- A powerful local network and reputation, with the ability to activate relationships and consistently generate new business opportunities.
- The ability to create visibility and brand awareness within professional business circles and organizations, including serving on committees or promoting Haskell colleagues into such opportunities.
Qualifications
Four-year degree plus 15+ years of experience in the AEC Industry.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
- Ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds.
- Good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand, and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment, and read application/form information.
- Frequent sitting, reaching with hands and arms, talking, and hearing.
