About the role
Purvis Industries is a leading distributor of bearing, mechanical power transmission, electrical, fluid power, industrial products, and conveyor systems. We seek a sales-focused product and application expert to lead our Hydraulic and Pneumatic fluid power efforts. Our in-house engineering, service, and contractor resources enable our team to fully support customers with a single call. The role involves working with field sales personnel to grow sales in hydraulic and pneumatic components and systems at new and existing customers across diverse industries such as oil & gas, aggregate, cement, food & beverage, and mining.
Responsibilities
- Directly participate in sales efforts to close orders.
- Coordinate fluid power sales and systems with various Branches and Regional Managers.
- Identify target accounts and prospects.
- Work with the marketing team to produce marketing materials and events promoting fluid power.
- Provide marketing suggestions for social media posts and other digital content.
- Utilize AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and manufacturer-provided software for technical application support.
- Provide advanced-level technical application support via phone, video conference, or in person.
- Stay current on new products and technologies and educate customers and team members about these developments.
- Determine final disposition of warranty claims and work with suppliers to resolve difficult cases.
- Produce and present technical training for customers and team members about hydraulic and pneumatic fluid power.
- Assist with new applications (sizing, specifying, and designing) and existing applications (troubleshooting, repair, or replacement).
- Support internal engineering design teams in designing and applying hydraulic and pneumatic fluid power.
- Create or assist in proposals with suppliers and team members.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic fluid power, engineering principles, and creative problem solving.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
- Proficiencies in Microsoft Office and Teams.
- Good driving record.
Qualifications
- Prefer a B.S. in Engineering or Mechatronics or equivalent experience.
- Five (5) years of hydraulic and pneumatic fluid power experience.
Schedule
Full time, 8-hour days Monday through Friday.
Travel
Up to 50% domestic travel required.
