This position is responsible for energy and related supply and services procurement for the N/E facilities of Gerdau.

NATURE AND SCOPE
The Regional Energy Manager is responsible for securing and maintaining competitive arrangements for the supply of electricity, natural gas, industrial gases, fuels, and similar supply and services necessary to meet the energy requirements of the Company’s operations in a designated geography, such as North, Central, or South. As the Company's needs evolve, so will the designated geographies.
Qualifications
Qualifications for the position include a broad knowledge of energy purchasing, utility regulation, markets, prices, accounting procedures, steel manufacturing energy uses and costs, and supply sources. The incumbent should have a minimum of five to seven years of relevant experience and a four-year degree or equivalent additional work experience.
Principal Accountabilities
1. Establish effective and competitive supply arrangements for energy for Gerdau’s facilities located in the assigned geography.
2. Monitor and maintain up-to-date market intelligence in relevant energy markets and identify opportunities.
3. Develop competitive supply sources and maintain favorable vendor relations.
4. Cooperate with plant management in order to maintain effective communications regarding needs and assure efficiency and effectiveness of commercial arrangements.
5. Resolve supplier and Company issues within the scope of this position.
6. Responsible for recommending, initiating, and carrying out company policies and programs.
7. Effectively represent Company interests in regulatory and political environments.
8. Comply with Corporate risk management policies regarding energy matters.
