Essential Responsibilities

  • Oversees and coordinates compassionate services within region; modeling behavior consistent with mission, policies, and code of ethics
  • Recruits, interviews, and hires staff as approved
  • Provides training, oversight and leadership to staff
  • Determines work assignments, priorities, and procedures for staff; ensuring quality and quantity of work
  • Supports casework goals and program success measures, monitoring and managing case worker performance, relational issues, equitable coverage of service areas, effectiveness of interventions, and outcome achievement
  • Aids in trainings and presentations, and collaborates on regional communications for internal staff and stakeholders
  • Builds positive relationships with regional vendors and community partners
  • Responds to inquiries from all stakeholders, vendors, community partners, and applicants, documenting and resolving issues that may arise; communicates with internal staff regarding problems or delays.
  • Aid in the identification and implementation of solutions

Qualifications

  • Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, sociology, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and professional work experience. Master's degree (preferred)
  • Two or more years of management experience in human services
  • Understanding of low-income populations (preferred)

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

  • Learn and adhere to The Salvation Army Social Services Code of Ethics
  • Adherence to professional code of ethics
  • Understand and adhere to professional boundaries within and outside of the organization
  • Maintain client confidentiality and obtain appropriate releases of information
  • Demonstrate a continued effort to increase self-awareness and to better understand other cultures and issues of social justice, and promote racial understanding and reconciliation
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Complete Caseworker Certification Program (CCP) within 120 days of hire
  • Computer Skills: Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and various video conferencing platforms. Proficient in Wellsky software within 90 days of hire
