About the role

This position is home-based at an assigned location but requires heavy travel to temporary work sites throughout the TVA service territory. TVA will endeavor to minimize extended travel outside of one’s region by assigning work to the closest qualified employees. A minor portion of time will be spent on general maintenance and emergency repairs at the home location and other assigned generation assets.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and periodically check general operating conditions of electrical equipment.
• Support TVA generation construction projects and general generation maintenance work.
• Perform maintenance and emergency repairs on main and auxiliary electrical equipment, including:
  • Main generators and exciters
  • Motors and motor controls
  • Station lighting
  • Cranes
  • Batteries
  • Air-conditioning equipment
  • Other plant-related electrical equipment in administrative and operational buildings
• Dismantle, assemble, renew parts, and adjust electrical components.
• Perform other work as assigned, provided the employee is certified or qualified.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent.
• Five years of experience in the maintenance and repair of electrical and plant equipment.
• Completion of a DOL-certified electrician or TVA-certified electrician training program.
• Maintain TVA-required classroom or computer-based electrical training and certifications.
• May be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance based on position and site access requirements.
