About the Role
Legrand has an exciting opportunity for an Electrician III to join the Pass and Seymour Team in Concord, NC. The Electrician III installs, maintains, troubleshoots, modifies, and repairs a wide variety of complex automated production equipment and calibrates tools to adapt to specific needs. This role functions as a group leader, ensuring uniform workflow and assisting coworkers and other departments as needed.
Responsibilities
- Wire electrically and troubleshoot circuits quickly using control schematics, ladder diagrams, and point wiring without documentation to avoid equipment shutdowns.
- Add and modify control circuitry to facilitate improvements.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic functions and controls.
- Provide technical support to maximize yield and determine root causes of chronic failures.
- Instruct and assist operators to meet quality and output requirements.
- Generate and maintain records for specific processes and assist in defining process verification procedures.
- Set up and maintain MRO spare parts inventory requirements.
- Perform and record preventive maintenance and equipment calibration.
- Participate in product and process troubleshooting to solve problems and provide cost improvements.
- Keep supervisor informed on matters affecting product quality and output.
- Interface with other support personnel such as setup, process, product, and engineers.
- Troubleshoot and repair related mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic functions.
- Eliminate non-conformance within product quality.
- Other related duties as needed.
Equipment used: All equipment used by Maintenance Technicians plus specialized electrical test, troubleshooting, and programming equipment such as VOM, Oscilloscope, programming terminals, and other supporting equipment.
Materials used: All types of electrical and electromechanical control equipment including various PLCs, sensors, distributed control schemes, input/output devices, analog/digital control devices, DC/stepper drives, motion/motor controls, and related equipment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; additional college and vocational courses preferred.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic math.
- Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience in an injection molding environment.
- Minimum of 3 months of manufacturing experience.
- Forklift experience and data entry experience preferred.
Skills
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills in English.
- Experience with ASI System, Matrix, and NCR Database.
- Effective communication skills.
- Able to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Able to work overtime when necessary.
- Able to stand for the majority of the workday and perform repetitive job functions (bending, kneeling, pushing, pulling).
- Manual dexterity for assembly and operating tools/machines.
- Ability to safely operate moving equipment without risk to self, others, or equipment.
- Basic electrical control troubleshooting.
- Use of precision measuring and electrical instruments.
- Hydraulic and pneumatic experience with injection molding machines.
- Welding experience.
- Operate forklift, skyjack, and boom lift.
- Maintain and repair HVAC equipment, boiler, and chilled water systems.
- Ensure preventative maintenance procedures are followed.
- Wire electrically, size accordingly, and plumb air/steam based on verbal instructions or prints.

Certifications
