Position Overview

The purpose of this position is to provide management and oversight of regional scheduling, education, and onboarding of clinical staff. These tasks will be performed in a manner that supports regional quality patient care goals and conforms to DNV NIAHO standards.

Essential Job Functions

  • Work closely with the CNO, Hospital Administrators and HR Manager to evaluate and address the educational needs of the region
  • Evaluate educational needs of all clinical personnel and provide appropriate education
  • Responsible for the oversight of continued employee training requirements and programs, including safety and quality initiatives
  • Guide staff in the development of their clinical skills and capabilities
  • Oversee and manage Health Stream assignments
  • Implement, conduct, coordinate, and manage new hire on-boarding
  • Manage, evaluate and record on the job training documents
  • Monitor and review clinical staff license and certification expirations and notify Hospital Administrator of expired credentials
  • Manage, coordinate, conduct, and maintain annual competencies for all clinical staff
  • Oversee certification compliance of clinical staff (potentially teach ACLS & PALS)
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations of the quality of clinical care given by employees
  • Conduct weekly facility visits and build rapport with clinical staff and management
  • Serve as a collective voice for staff to communicate with administration concerning education needs
  • Maintain knowledge and proficiency in lab procedures
  • Maintain knowledge and proficiency of EMR in order to provide necessary training
  • Maintain proficiency in ED and in patient unit in order to provide relevant education
  • Perform all Quality Assessment activities assigned and document
  • Attend staff meetings or other company sponsored or mandated meetings as required
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree, required; BSN, required; MSN, preferred
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse without sanctions, required
  • 2+ years clinical educator experience, preferred
  • 5+ years full-time RN experience in ER and/or CCU, required
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS (or ENPC) certification, required
