Regional Business Development Representative - Houston/Dallas

About the Role

Business Development is responsible for generating new business opportunities across all Watterson lines of business in Texas and Louisiana, including Integrated Facilities Management, Emergency and Disaster Response, Environmental Services, and Commercial Construction, by developing relationships with commercial accounts. Primary responsibilities include inside and outside sales activities such as networking, lead generation, sales process management, active account management, and client service.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop relationships with industry professionals to generate new business opportunities across all service lines.
  • Create and expand Watterson’s footprint to new geographies and customers and build top-of-mind awareness for our services.
  • Facilitate excellent customer service via regular communication between Watterson operations and finance teams, and key client contacts.
  • Actively manage a robust pipeline of opportunities necessary to achieve annual sales targets.
  • Provide ongoing progress updates on new business development activities and other key indicators to the management team.
  • Help develop and manage the execution of the sales plan.
  • Coordinate and manage the sales/proposal process with the management team.
  • Establish profitable relationships with decision-makers at companies and organizations.
  • Research and analyze key economic factors that may influence market activity within specific niche markets or geographic areas.
  • Travel as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or related field preferred. High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • 3+ years of outside, commercial sales experience required; experience within the emergency response/restoration industry preferred.
  • Experience selling in the multi-family market highly preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s license in good standing.
  • Proficient knowledge of computer programs such as MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Thorough understanding of contracts with the ability to create, draft, prepare, revise, review, and negotiate complex contract terms.
  • Enthusiasm for developing plans and the ability to drive projects to successful completion.
  • Proven experience spearheading both the planning and implementation of multiple projects, with strong organization and commitment to meeting deadlines.
  • Long-range planning skills to ensure capability and capacity to meet business strategy.
  • Ability to maintain composure, a positive attitude, and strong judgment, even in adverse situations in a team environment.
  • Thorough understanding of safety and quality policies and procedures.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to travel frequently to client sites, meetings, trade shows, and networking events.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking, depending on daily activities and event participation.
  • Ability to use a computer, mobile device, and standard office equipment.
