Referral Coordinator

Position Summary

The Referral Coordinator is responsible for expediting the administrative requirements of patient referrals between participating providers and patient health plans. The incumbent acts as a resource regarding referrals and insurance plan guidelines. This role requires the ability to interpret medical guidelines, benefits, policies and procedures in order to ensure the efficient operations of patient health care services.

Responsibilities

• Expedite administrative requirements and logistics for patient referrals.
• Serve as a resource on referrals and insurance plan guidelines.
• Apply discretion, good judgment, and professional communication to all work experiences.
• Utilize independent decision‑making capacities and strong interpersonal skills on a regular basis.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Two (2) years of experience working in a medical setting or insurance company.
• Experience in managed care desired.
• Experience with CPT and ICD coding preferred.

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits, and paid time off. The pay scale is $23.20 – $33.38 USD, influenced by factors such as skill set, level of experience, certifications, and education. If the position is covered by a union contract, pay will reflect the appropriate step on the union pay scale based on the applicant’s experience.
