Referral Coordinator

Key Responsibilities

• Care for coordination of patient referrals to specialty providers
• Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant processing of referrals
• Coordinate patient referrals to specialists and external providers
• Review referral requests to ensure medical necessity and proper documentation
• Prepare and submit referral documentation, including medical records
• Prioritize urgent requests and manage referral timelines
• Communicate with patients, providers, and internal teams regarding referral status
• Maintain accurate referral logs and reporting
• Absorb and resolve referral issues and escalations

Requirements

• A high school diploma is required
• Previous medical office or healthcare administration experience is preferred
• Familiarity with referral processes, insurance, or healthcare systems is a plus
