About the role
Arena Sports Referees are integral to providing a safe, fun, friendly, and structured environment for League players. They ensure fair play according to indoor-specific soccer rules, assist League management, and promote sportsmanship.
Responsibilities
- Manage games professionally and consistently to Arena Sports' standards
- Review game schedules and rosters for games
- Identify players needing waivers or payment for the league
- Greet teams while entering the field
- Referee games while assisting League players with indoor soccer rules
- Provide an exceptional league experience for players and spectators
- Communicate information to League Managers regarding customer follow up, team payments, or foul play
- Maintain a clean and organized field and player bench area
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Manager
Qualifications
- Problem Anticipation/ Deductive Reasoning: Ability to anticipate issues and apply logical reasoning to resolve them.
- Written Comprehension and Expression: Ability to read, understand, and communicate information and ideas in writing.
- Oral Comprehension and Expression: Ability to understand and communicate effectively.
- Computer Skills: Ability to use Word, Excel, and other software required by TBCC and regulatory agencies.
- Experience: Professional, passionate about the game, reliable, able to communicate effectively with players, and manage stressful situations.
- Training: Prior experience as a referee is not required (training provided).
Physical Requirements
- Sitting and standing as needed
