General Summary
Arena Sports Referees are essential for providing a safe, fun, friendly, and structured environment for League players. They ensure a great customer experience, promote sportsmanship and fair play, and assist in League management and operations.
About the Role
Manage games professionally and consistently to Arena Sports' standards. Review game schedules and rosters, handle player waivers, and communicate with League Managers regarding customer follow-ups, team payments, or foul play.
Responsibilities
- Identify players needing waivers or payment for the league
- Greet teams upon entering the field
- Referee games while explaining indoor-specific soccer rules to league players
- Provide an exceptional league experience for players and spectators
- Communicate information to League Managers regarding customer follow-up, team payments, or foul play
- Maintain a clean and organized field and player bench area
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Problem Anticipation/Deductive Reasoning: Ability to anticipate issues and apply logic to resolve problems.
- Written and Oral Comprehension and Expression: Ability to read, understand, and communicate information and ideas in writing and verbally.
- Computer Skills: Ability to use Word, Excel, and other software required by TBCC and regulatory agencies.
- Experience: Professional, passionate about the game, reliable, able to communicate effectively with players, and manage stressful situations.
- Training: Prior experience as a referee is not required (training provided).
Physical Requirements
- Sitting and standing as needed
- Contact with outside personnel such as residents and clients on a regular basis
- Dealing with unpleasant or angry people with the need to problem solve difficult situations
