About the role

The Texas Tech Physicians Family Medicine Clinic is seeking a Patient Care Manager to join our dynamic team. This position is available for PRN shift work with family-friendly hours.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome patients warmly with compassion.
  • Listen carefully to patient needs and communicate clearly and accurately to the health care team.
  • Collaborate with other health care team members to ensure patient needs are met and clinic operations are efficient.
  • Aid the nurse manager in ensuring all team members meet service standards and follow department guidelines.
  • Identify needs for improvement and opportunities to recognize excellence in team member performance.
  • Take and record accurate vital signs and measurements, assist with exams and procedures, and participate in patient assessments.
  • Identify and implement teaching plans for patients and their families based on individual care plans.
  • Manage refill requests and administer medications according to policies and procedures for medication management.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduation from an approved certified program for assistants in the area of required specialty.
  • Certification by an approved accredited certifying agency in the specialty that particular work will be performed.
  • Experience working in a hospital, ambulatory clinic, academic, or community-based setting.
  • CPR\\BLS Certified.
  • Electronic Health Records (EHR) experience, with Epic preferred.
  • Experience in scribing.
  • Speaks Spanish fluently.
  • Experience in collecting specimens for point-of-care testing.
  • Experience in patient assessment and intake.
  • Experience in medication administration and reconciliation.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Licenses/Certifications: Approved certified program for assistants in the area of required specialty, certification by an approved accredited certifying agency in the specialty that particular work will be performed.

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Team player with strong collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Knowledge of electronic health records systems.
  • Spanish language proficiency.

Pay

Pay is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as the institutional pay plan. For additional information, please reference the institutional pay plan website at https://app4.ttuhsc.edu/payplan.
