About the Role

Assists the Recruitment Manager with management of the Employment Center, recruitment, and job placement activities.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises the Recruitment Specialist and an HR Coordinator in the Employment Center of the Human Resources Department. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

The Gaming Enterprises are committed to the employment and advancement of Enrolled Community Members (ECMs) of the SRP-MIC. A Supervisor level leader is expected to actively support ECMs in their professional and academic goals through:

  • Personalized Support: Regularly engage with individual ECMs to understand their career interests and educational goals. Offer guidance tailored to their aspirations.
  • Opportunity Identification: Proactively inform ECMs about internal and external training, workshops, and educational programs aligned with their development needs.
  • Facilitation of Growth: Encourage participation in stretch assignments, cross-training, and job shadowing to build new skills and broaden experience.
  • Feedback and Recognition: Provide constructive feedback and recognize efforts toward self-improvement and career advancement.
  • Resource Connection: Connect ECMs to relevant mentors, subject matter experts, and specific Pathways to Success programs.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains complete confidentiality at all times.
  • Plans and directs activities of staff in carrying out such functions as developing sources of qualified applicants, screening applicants, scheduling and conducting interviews, administering tests, checking references and background, and evaluating applicant qualifications.
  • Ensures recruitment team and hiring managers are correctly utilizing the applicant tracking system as designed.
  • Interviews candidates for open positions, through behavioral based interviewing techniques.
  • Researches the labor market and sources candidates for employment.
  • Maintains a strong presence on professional networking social media platforms for proactive recruitment.
  • Develops and maintains contacts with educational institutions, employment agencies, placement firms, and other sources of applicants.
  • Dedicated to the recruitment of Tribal Members consistent with the casino’s Community and Indian Preference guidelines.
  • Maintains data on recruitment activities, applicant flow, interviews, hires, transfers and promotions and runs associated reports from the applicant tracking system.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Human Resources or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ related experience in recruitment and staffing within a large organization, with hospitality industry experience strongly preferred.
  • At least two (2) years’ experience in a supervisory or team lead in recruitment/staffing environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills

  • Knowledge of Human Resources systems, Microsoft Office applications, and applicant tracking systems.
  • Experienced at networking and lead/prospect development through research and sourcing techniques.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
