About the role

The position involves planning, organizing, supervising, and coordinating recreational therapy and allied services within a health institution. The incumbent will participate in recreational therapy and allied services, and perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Legal Authorization To Work: Must be a citizen, national, or permanent resident alien of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.
• Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in recreation, physical education, special education, psychology, or sociology, with a minimum of 12 semester credit hours in recreation or therapy-oriented areas.
• Specialized Experience: Three (3) years of progressively responsible professional work experience in a recreational therapy program, with at least one year comparable to Recreational Therapist III.

• Ability to develop and carry out therapeutic recreational treatment plans.
• Active participation in interdisciplinary team meetings.
• Conduct therapeutic recreational and leisure activities.
• Observation, evaluation, and reporting on the condition and progress of patients.
