RECREATIONAL THERAPIST III - HAWAII STATE HOSPITAL - KANEOHE, OAHU
About the role
Performs the full range of work assignments in recreational therapy; independently develops and carries out therapeutic recreational treatment plans; actively participates in interdisciplinary team meetings; conducts therapeutic recreational and leisure activities; observes, evaluates and reports on the condition and progress of patients; and performs other related duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Develops and implements therapeutic recreational treatment plans independently
- Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings
- Counsels and educates patients on recreational activities
- Evaluates patient progress and reports findings to healthcare providers
- Conducts therapeutic recreational and leisure activities
- Observes and records patient conditions and responses to treatment
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in recreation, physical education, special education, psychology or sociology with a minimum of 12 semester credit hours in recreation or therapy-oriented areas
- Two years of progressively responsible professional work experience in a recreational therapy program
- At least one year of experience comparable to Recreational Therapist II
Qualifications
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
- Relevant specialized experience in recreational therapy

Pay
$5,107 to $6,221 per month (SR-20, Step D to I)
