Recreational Therapist - Inpatient Rehab

About the role

The Recreational Therapist at Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation is responsible for planning and implementing appropriate recreation activities for patients in accordance with guidelines set by the organization, hospital, and the profession. They provide therapeutic recreation intervention for an assigned caseload and ensure all patients are oriented to recreation therapy. Additionally, they provide hospital-wide leisure, social, and divergent programs and serve as an educator to patients on community resources.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement appropriate recreation activities for patients in accordance with guidelines set by the organization, hospital, and the profession.
• Provide therapeutic recreation intervention for an assigned caseload.
• Ensure all patients are oriented to recreation therapy and provide hospital-wide leisure, social, and divergent programs.
• Serve as an educator to patients on community resources.

Requirements

• Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) required.
• Baccalaureate Degree in Therapeutic Recreation required.
• Certified Basic Life Support (BLS) or completion in first 90 days of employment is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in Acute Rehab preferred.

Skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of therapeutic recreation principles and practices.

Pay

$32/hr+ with shift differential.

Schedule

Per Diem/PRN 10am - 6pm Weekdays and Weekends.
