Recreational Therapist - Inpatient Rehab

Location: 1199 Pleasant Valley Way, West Orange, NJ

Schedule: Per Diem (PRN) 9AM - 5PM (Minimum of 2 shifts per month: weekend and weekday needs)

Pay: $32 per hour

Responsibilities

• Plans and implements appropriate recreation activities for patients in accordance with guidelines set by the organization, hospital, and the profession
• Provides therapeutic recreation intervention for an assigned caseload
• Ensures all patients are oriented to recreation therapy and provides hospital-wide leisure, social, and divergent programs
• Serves as an educator to patients on community resources

Requirements

• National certification from NCTRC as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) is required to start
• Baccalaureate Degree in Therapeutic Recreation required
• Certified Basic Life Support (BLS) or completion within the first 90 days of employment is required

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Acute Rehab preferred
