Inpatient Recreation Therapist

About the role

The Recreation Therapist at MultiCare assesses, plans, develops, implements, and modifies therapeutic recreation services to help patients reduce depression, stress, and anxiety; recover physical and mental abilities; build confidence; and socialize effectively. This role requires evaluating and treating patients in leisure skills, community skills, and recreational skills, providing resources to patients and their significant others, and documenting all services rendered.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates patients and develops treatment plan when necessary
• Provides therapy to inpatients and outpatients
• Provides resources to patients and their significant others to assist with building leisure and recreation skills
• Timely and accurate documentation for all services delivered
• Participates as a member of the multidisciplinary rehabilitation team

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Therapeutic Recreation
• Certification as a Recreational Therapist (CTRS) is required
• Previous experience working with adults with physical and cognitive disabilities
• Experience with current therapeutic procedures and evaluation techniques in therapeutic recreation
• BLS Certification
• Current Washington State Driver's License: proof of a safe driving record

Pay and Benefits

The pay scale for this position ranges from $72,384.00 to $104,208.00 USD, influenced by factors such as skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align.
