Recreation Assistant (Lifeguard) NF-02
About the role
This position is located at the Magrath Pool within the Magrath Sports Complex. Join our team at the Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (FMWR) at Fort Drum. We are dedicated to enhancing the lives of Soldiers and their Families by providing essential support services, including child and youth programs and a variety of recreational activities that directly contribute to Soldier readiness and well-being.
Responsibilities
- Continuous exposure to prolonged periods of high temperature and humidity.
- May be assigned to irregular duties or when needed for special recreational events and related requirements.
- Work schedule will be irregular. The incumbent will be required to work nights, weekends, holidays, and/or unique events.
Requirements
- Lifeguard certification.
- CPR for the Professional Rescuer certification.
- First Aid certification.
- Experience providing customer service.
- Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification within two weeks of reporting for duty.
Qualifications
- A qualified candidate must possess prior to the start of employment, and then maintain for the duration of employment, the following certifications:
- Lifeguard, AND
- CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AND
- First Aid.
Skills
- Customer service skills.
- Ability to work irregular schedules.
- Knowledge of emergency response procedures.
Benefits

- Intermittent, on-call employment may be required.
