About the role
Oversees the accomplishment of work and evaluates pool operation efficiencies. Assists manager in ensuring adequate staffing and user safety.
Responsibilities
- Directs lifeguards in performing their duties.
- Checks and adjusts water quality levels and maintains pump rooms.
- Supports management team in guest/user concerns and decision-making.
- Life guards guests, rescues swimmers, and administers first aid as needed.
- Coordinates and conducts aquatic swimming and water survival training.
- Attends and arranges for aquatics and safety training.
- Maintains peak physical condition.
- Carries out work according to policies, regulations, and requirements.
- Communicates effectively and communicates events/items of significance to manager.
Requirements
- Current Lifeguard, CPR, and First Aid Certification.
- Pool Operator's License within 6 months of hire.
- 12 months experience in pool operation as a lifeguard with swimming instruction and pool maintenance experience.
- Sound judgement, task accomplishment within time frames, and good people skills.
- Experience with office functions such as preparing and managing reports.
Qualifications
- Must hold a current Lifeguard, CPR, and First Aid Certification.
- Within 6 months of hire, must obtain a Pool Operator's License.
- Must have 12 months experience in pool operation as a lifeguard with experience in swimming instruction and pool maintenance.
- Must be able to use sound judgement, accomplish tasks within established time frames, and possess good people skills requiring clear communication.
- Must have experience with office functions such as preparing and managing reports.
Skills
- Good vision (based upon acceptable standard of 20/40 vision or better).
- Medical examination required.
- Lifting and carrying items weighing up to 45 pounds.

Work hours may involve weekends, weekdays, holidays, and night duty.
