About the Role

Works as an assistant for the Facilities Operations Team Leader who makes specific assignments, explains policies and procedures, and reviews work for quantity and quality of completed projects. The job may require work in various facilities based on customer demand or programmed activities.

Responsibilities

  • Opens and/or closes facilities by locking/unlocking doors and windows and ensuring the security system is operable.
  • Issues and receives recreational equipment to authorized users, collects applicable fees, accounts for monies collected, safeguards funds, and makes daily bank deposits.
  • Pre-checks and prepares equipment for customers, explains proper use, and monitors usage.
  • Conducts surveillance of the facility and reports any unusual findings to the supervisor.
  • Cleans recreation equipment, supplies, and facility areas.
  • Operates equipment and performs self-help maintenance on facilities and equipment.

Requirements

  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card are required.
  • Must meet qualification, eligibility, and background requirements for this position.
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • Must satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Ability to lift up to 45 pounds.
  • Must pass a Medical Physical Examination.
  • Requires rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must satisfactorily complete all pre-employment checks, including a Tier 1 background investigation.
  • Must possess and retain a valid state driver’s license.

Additional Information

  • This job is open to local candidates on the Island of Oahu, including Military Spouse Preference (MSP) and Involuntarily Separated Military Preference (ISMP) eligible candidates.
  • This is a Standing Register with a first cut-off date of September 1, 2026. Applications will be referred to selecting officials periodically until the position is filled.
  • Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized.
  • Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid.
  • Access to certain federal facilities may require a REAL ID-compliant driver’s license/ID or an Enhanced Driver’s License (EDL).
