About the role
This is a 6 month contract position, with 25 days onsite in Downtown Houston.
Responsibilities
- Provides training and instruction to Houston, Division and Area personnel on the use of the company's document management system and related applications (FileNet, Pulse, PCTS)
- Assists field locations with record keeping procedures and helps monitor and maintain established standards regarding the company's document management system
- Performs field trips (as required) during construction to ensure documentation is properly collected and assembled
- Provides research assistance in obtaining drawings and documentation as requested both internally and externally
- Scans, indexes, and uploads drawings and documentation to the company document management system (FileNet)
Requirements
- A minimum High School education or GED
- 0-2 years' experience in gas transmission or a related field; or four (4) years minimum experience in a technically related field
- Proficient at reading drawings and documentation associated with industry facilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent organization skills with a high level of attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Preferred Skills
- Prior experience with document management systems, scanning and indexing software (FileNet, DataCap)
- Knowledgeable in the operation of various scanners (large and small format) and related software
- Background and knowledge in document management practices
- Good working knowledge of DOT-required documentation related to the pipeline industry
Special Characteristics / Job Requirements
- Must be a well-motivated self-starter capable of working on multiple projects, changing priorities, and exacting deadlines
- Occasional overnight travel may be required
- Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings which may include hazardous materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment
