Receptionist - Full-Time
About the Role
This position requires a servant-hearted approach, a commitment to hospitality, and the ability to represent the church with professionalism, warmth, and integrity in all interactions. The Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for visitors, members, and callers, creating a welcoming and organized environment. This role provides administrative and clerical support to church staff while representing the church’s mission and values with professionalism and care.
Responsibilities
- Answering, screening, and forwarding incoming calls and assist with inquiries
- Provide accurate information about church services, events, and programs
- Receive, sort, and distribute daily mail, packages, and deliveries to appropriate recipients or mailroom
- Maintain a clean, welcoming reception area
- Perform general clerical duties (filing, copying, data entry, call campaigns, ROCK cleanup, etc.)
- Maintain office security by following safety procedures and controlling access via the reception desk
- Provide support to other departments within the organization as deemed necessary

Requirements
- Perform duties assigned by leadership in support of ministry and operational goals
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous receptionist or administrative experience preferred
- Proficiency in Google Drive including Google Office Portfolio
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally and courteously with diverse individuals
- Professional demeanor with a customer-service mindset
- Commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and service in a church or ministry setting

Work Environment and Physical Requirements
- Work may occur in office, ministry, worship, campus, community, or event environments depending on the role
- Evening, weekend, holiday, and special-event availability may be required
- Role may require standing, walking, lifting, computer use, public interaction, and/or travel depending on assigned duties

Schedule
Monday through Thursday: 9 AM – 5 PM and 2nd and 4th weekends.
Performance Review Criteria
Annual evaluation based on KPIs, role responsibilities, leadership feedback, ministry impact, policy compliance, and demonstration of core competencies. Supervisors should review measurable outcomes, quality of execution, communication effectiveness, and alignment with BMBC values.
