Responsibilities
- Greet donors at the plasma collection center and conduct registration procedures.
- Assist qualified donors in completing the screening process in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Absorb and answer basic medical questions related to the donation process.
- Refer donors to medical staff when necessary and perform health screening procedures like blood pressure, pulse, weight, and temperature.
- Perform finger stick to obtain hematocrit and total protein levels.
- Upon appropriate training, educate new donors about therapeutic products made from donated plasma, including the screening process, health screening tests, appointment system, donation fees, center policies, proper nutrition, and other pertinent information.
- Answer donor questions promptly, accurately, and professionally.
- Register applicants and transfer donors based on training and operational needs.
- Answer the telephone and transfer calls as needed.
- Monitor donors for reactions during or after the pheresis process and notify appropriate staff.
- Alert Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
- Accurately record donor data in the electronic donor information management system as per SOPs.
- Understand and adhere to policies and procedures related to hyper immune programs.
- Maintain a clean and efficient work environment and ensure sufficient supplies and forms are available.
- Follow HSE and OSHA policies and promote safety.
- Maintain confidentiality of personnel, donor, and center information.
- May be cross-trained in other areas to meet business needs.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of three (3) months experience in a clerical or customer service related position, preferably in a medical or health provider environment.
- Must be able to perform basic math calculations.
- Other qualifications or responsibilities may apply based on local legal and/or educational requirements.
