Real ID Specialist (Limited Duration)

Role Summary

The Real ID Specialist (Limited Duration) position at the Oregon Department of Transportation's Driver and Motor Vehicles Division (DMV) Field Services Group / Mt. Hood Region in Gladstone assists the public with obtaining Real ID compliant identification cards and provides customer service for Oregonians seeking documents that comply with the Real ID Act.

What You Will Do

• Assist the public with obtaining Real ID compliant identification cards.
• Answer questions related to Real ID and provide customer service.
• Accurately produce photo licenses, instruction permits, and identification cards.
• Administer, correct, and explain driver license knowledge tests.
• Conduct vision tests.
• Explain state and federal requirements for different driver and identification transactions.
• Provide exceptional customer service while following privacy laws.
• Communicate clearly with customers from diverse backgrounds to accurately answer complex questions.
• Collaborate with office leaders and managers to ensure efficient operations related to issuing Real ID.
• Examine documents for eligibility prior to issuing credentials.
• Prepare daily reports and balance transactions at the end of each day.
• Travel to other offices in the region to perform relief work.

Qualifications

• Two years of public contact/customer service experience involving dealing with the public in person or by phone providing information about services/programs or explaining and/or applying rules, regulations and procedures.
• Experience or training using computers to retrieve and input data.
• Three months experience collecting money and making change.
• Completion of an associate’s degree will substitute for one year of the public contact experience.
