About the role
Boutique law firm with sophisticated commercial real estate and business transactional practice is seeking a full-time real estate attorney with 2-6 years of experience in a real estate transactional practice.
Responsibilities
- Draft and negotiate real estate transaction documents
- Handle commercial real estate matters including acquisitions, financing, leasing, and development
- Manage multiple complex transactions under tight deadlines
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Active license to practice law in California
- 2-6 years of experience as a real estate transactional attorney, with a focus on representing sophisticated real estate investors and developers
- At least two years of experience at a larger, national, or regional law firm
- Significant experience in the area of commercial real estate law
- Outstanding drafting skills, work ethic, and attention to detail
- Must be reliable, responsible, motivated, friendly, and able to thrive in a small firm environment
- Ability to work well with and support others
- In-depth knowledge of real estate law, including acquisitions, financing, leasing, and development
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple complex transactions under tight deadlines
Qualifications
- Candidates with significant litigation or corporate experience will not be considered
Compensation
- Annual billable hours goal is 1,750
- Production bonus: 5% of salary base at 1,800 billable hours, plus additional bonus of 40% of billing rate for each billable hour above 1,800
- Origination bonus program: 15% bonus of monthly amounts collected on originated matters
