Real Estate Associate - Leasing Focus

This role is with a national, highly-respected AmLaw200 law firm based in NYC.

About the role

The successful candidate will work on exciting and challenging real-estate projects, develop their skills, and make a significant contribution to the firm. A background in high-end tenant representation for major companies is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial lease agreements, amendments, and other related documents.
• Conduct due diligence for real estate transactions.
• Advise clients on legal aspects of real estate transactions, including acquisition, disposition, financing, development, and leasing.
• Coordinate and manage closing logistics for real estate transactions.
• Liaise with clients, opposing counsel, and other transaction parties.
• Keep up-to-date with changes in real estate regulations and trends to ensure compliance and provide accurate advice to clients.
• Collaborate with the legal team to handle complex real estate transactions and leasing matters.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admitted to practice law in the state.
• 2-4 years of experience in real estate transactions, with a strong focus on leasing matters.
• Proficiency in drafting and negotiating commercial lease agreements.
• Strong knowledge of real estate law, including the ability to interpret and apply complex real estate statutes, regulations, and case law.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients and transaction parties.
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
• A proactive approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
