About the Role

The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. In collaboration with medical providers and other members of the care team, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage." The RN serves as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, modeling a commitment to the organization’s vision, mission, and values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes.

As a Rapid Response RN, your voice influences patient care through open, collaborative relationships with your direct manager and formal opportunities via hospital councils and national nursing initiatives. You’ll help shape decisions that elevate both patient outcomes and the future of nursing.

Responsibilities

  • Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by medical provider(s).
  • Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Teaches patients, families, and caregivers about patient medical condition, status, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures. Translates complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding.
  • Teaches patients, families, and caregivers about non-medicinal follow-up measures, such as healthy diet, exercise, disease prevention, and lifestyle changes.
  • Prepares patients and families for future self-management.
  • Manages evidence-based practices and continuous process improvement initiatives to meet and exceed quality measures and enhance patient care.
  • Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate, evaluate, customize, and deliver a holistic patient treatment plan that promotes and supports recovery.

Requirements

  • Must be a Registered Nurse.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
  • NIH Stroke Scale certification.
  • (CCRN) Critical Care Registered Nurse (Adult) or (CNRN) Certified Neuroscience Registered Nurse certification must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
