Railcar Repair Site Manager

About the role

The Railcar Repair Site Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of a railcar repair facility, ensuring that all repairs are completed efficiently and to the highest standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the repair and maintenance of railcars to ensure compliance with safety regulations and customer expectations.
• Manage a team of repair technicians, providing guidance and support to improve efficiency and quality.
• Develop and implement training programs for new employees and ongoing skill development for existing staff.
• Ensure adherence to budgetary constraints while maintaining high-quality service levels.
• Collaborate with other departments to resolve issues related to railcar repairs and maintenance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in railcar repair and maintenance.
• Proven leadership skills and ability to manage a team effectively.
• Strong knowledge of railcar repair processes and industry standards.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays as needed.
• Experience with railcar inspection and testing equipment.

Skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of railcar repair software systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

Pay

$XX.XX per hour, depending on experience.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM, with occasional weekend work as needed.
